Login with two-factor authentication

Starting now, you can protect your Scalable account login using two-factor authentication (2FA). Previously, 2FA was already available to protect sensitive actions, such as changing your reference account.

What is 2FA?

Two-factor authentication serves as an additional layer of security for your Scalable account. In order to log into your account, two factors are required: The first factor is entering your email address and password. As a second factor, it is required to confirm the login via a mobile device. The mobile device must be registered for the 2FA process beforehand.

How to enable 2FA

1. Open the Scalable app on your mobile device.
2. Go to Profile, open Data & security, and select Two-factor authentication.
3. Tap on Activate.
4. An activation link will be sent to your stored e-mail address. Open the link on the mobile device that you would like to use as a second factor in future or type in the activation code.
5. In the next step, you need to confirm your phone number. Do that by clicking Request code and type in the code that you receive via SMS on your stored phone number.
6. Click on Activate 2FA and note down your backup code.

Why should you use two-factor authentication?

2FA helps to make your account more secure and protect it from unauthorised access. Personal data can only be changed by confirmation in the mobile app if 2FA is enabled.
